The Platteville boy’s basketball team endured a challenging stretch on the road this week, dropping back-to-back games at Evansville and New Glarus, including a thrilling overtime contest.
Platteville opened the week at Evansville and fell 81–74 despite a strong offensive showing. Senior Myron Reuter led all scorers with 32 points, keeping the Hillmen within striking distance throughout the contest. Braden Streight added 24 points, while Grady Poppy chipped in 13 as Platteville fought until the final minutes.
The Hillmen then traveled to New Glarus for a highly competitive non-conference matchup that went to overtime. Platteville came up just short in a 92–91 loss in overtime. Reuter and Poppy each scored 23 points to pace the offense, while Jauron Blevins contributed 18 points and Will Zielinski added 11. The game featured multiple lead changes and was decided in the closing seconds of overtime.
