The Platteville Hillmen hosted 14 teams Saturday at the Platteville Activities Complex for their 3rd annual summer 7-on-7 tournament, providing another valuable opportunity for players to compete, develop, and continue building toward the upcoming fall season.
Platteville entered two teams in the event. The Hillmen A squad finished pool play with a 2-1 record, while the Hillmen B team, made up entirely of freshmen and sophomores, gained valuable experience competing against varsity-level opponents throughout the day.
The tournament format featured three pool-play games for each team, with the top four teams advancing to a championship bracket. Prairie du Chien ultimately captured the tournament championship after advancing through bracket play.
For Platteville, the day showed continued growth. Offensive execution improved throughout the day, while the defense continued to communicate and play with increasing confidence against quality competition.
