Hillmen Football Youth Camp a Success

The future of Hillmen Football was on display this week as 60 young athletes participated in the 2026 Platteville Hillmen Youth Football Camp at the Platteville High School Athletic Complex.

Campers entering grades 1st-8th spent three days learning the fundamentals of football while building confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Throughout the week, athletes rotated through a variety of stations focused on offensive and defensive skills, agility, competition, and football fundamentals in a fun, positive environment.

A highlight of the camp was the involvement of Platteville High School football players, who served as coaches and mentors throughout the week. Their leadership, enthusiasm, and willingness to give back helped create an outstanding experience for each camper while strengthening the connection between the high school program and the next generation of Hillmen.

Although weather required some adjustments on the final day, campers remained flexible and finished the week with great energy and enthusiasm.

The Hillmen Football program extends a sincere thank you to all of the coaches, high school athletes, volunteers, and families who helped make this year’s camp a success. Your time, support, and commitment continue to strengthen the Hillmen football family and provide young athletes with a positive introduction to the game.

With youth camp now complete, preparations are already underway for the fall season. Families with students entering 1st through 6th grade are encouraged to register for Platteville Youth Football (PYF) as soon as possible. PYF now operates independently from the city league, and early registration helps ensure a successful season for all participants.

We appreciate everyone who helped make this week memorable and look forward to seeing our young Hillmen continue to grow both on and off the field this fall.
