The Platteville Hillmen saw their season come to a close Friday night, falling 61–27 to a talented Baldwin-Woodville team in Level 2 of the WIAA Playoffs. On a rainy night in Baldwin, the Hillmen battled with toughness and resilience from start to finish, never backing down despite challenging conditions and a strong opponent.
This group showed heart all season long, continuing to represent Platteville with pride, unity, and the Ubuntu spirit that defines Hillmen Football — “I am because we are.” The coaching staff is incredibly proud of the effort, growth, and brotherhood displayed throughout the year.
The Hillmen would like to extend their gratitude to the entire community for the unwavering support shown all season — from Friday nights under the lights at home to the long road trips in the playoffs. A special thank-you also goes out to the University of Wisconsin–River Falls for welcoming the Hillmen prior to Friday’s game. The team was able to hold a walk-through on UWRF’s field, tour their facilities, and hear an inspiring pre-game message from Falcons Head Coach Matt Walker.
Most importantly, the program extends a heartfelt thank-you to this year’s senior class for their leadership, commitment, and example on and off the field. Their dedication to the Hillmen Standard and to one another has left a lasting impact on the program — they have truly left their jersey in a better spot than they found it.
Though the season has come to an end, the Hillmen program remains proud of the journey, the lessons learned, and the legacy left by this year’s team.
