Hillmen drop 2 games to Somerset on Saturday.

Game 1

The Hillmen struggled in the top of the first allowing Somerset to get on the board with a 4 run lead. They were able to cut the lead in half in the home half of the inning and held it until the top of the fourth when somerset would score 7 runs. The Hillmen answered back again with 3 to make it 11-5 but wasn´t able to push anymore runs across the rest of the contest. Junior Brody Digman started on the mound for Platteville going 4 complete innings allowing 11 hits, 11 runs (6 earned), 0 walks, and 3 strike outs. Sophomore Keegan Weigel came on in relief to go 3 complete innings allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks, and striking out 2. The offense was able to put up 11 hits in the game. Evan Johnson, Brody Digman, Keegan Weigel, and Graedyn Roberts all collected 2 hits on the day. Brycen Carl, Dylan Weigel, and Aiden Weigel each added a hit for the Hillmen.

Game 2

In game 2 the Hillmen could not come up with the timely hits that they needed. Platteville was out hit 7 to 4 in the contest. Junior Aiden Weigel was able to collect 2 hits in the game while Brody Digman and Keegan Weigel each had 1 each. Junior Alex Cullen started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 runs both earned, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. Fellow Classmate Aiden Weigel came in as relief throwing the final 2 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 earned run, 2 walks and striking out 0. The defense was clean the entire game committing 0 zero errors in the field. The Hillmen return to action on Tuesday when they host Baraboo High School at 5:00.
