The Platteville Hillmen came up just short Friday night in a thrilling back-and-forth Homecoming matchup against the New Glarus Knights, falling 42–40.
The offensive line set the tone, consistently moving the line of scrimmage and creating opportunities for both the passing and rushing attacks. Brody Digman had a strong night through the air, completing 25 of 29 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown. Digman also added 86 yards on 14 carries, keeping the Knights’ defense on their heels all game. Tyler Sasse powered the ground attack with 21 carries for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
In the passing game, Myron Reuter led all receivers with a game-high 16 receptions for 132 yards. Jauron Blevins added in five receptions for 42 yards, while Will Zielinski hauled in a 19-yard touchdown. Eli Opgenorth also added in three receptions for 17 yards
On the other side of the ball, the Hillmen defense continued to battle every possession against a talented Knights offense. Briggs Weigel led the charge with seven tackles, followed by Reuter with five. Platteville’s defensive front held strong at the line of scrimmage and made key stops to give the Hillmen offense repeated chances in a game that went down to the wire.
Although the result wasn’t in their favor, the Hillmen showed tremendous fight and resilience throughout the contest.
